Mitre 10 Heartland Championship Draw announced
The 2019 Mitre 10 Heartland Championship draw has been announced today by New Zealand Rugby.
The season will kick off at away to Buller in Westport on the 24th August, with eight weeks of round robin before semi-finals and Finals.
Our Home matches season are against Mid Canterbury, King Country, West Coast and North Otago. Once again we hope to bring you all live streaming of these matches so stay tuned for details.
New Zealand Rugby’s Chief Rugby Officer Nigel Cass said the long-standing rivalries that exist in domestic competitions create a special excitement in the rugby community and the announcement of these draws begin the countdown to August.
“In 2018 we had it all, the Ranfurly Shield moved around the country, Thames Valley had a phenomenal run to the Meads Cup title and a dramatic Mitre 10 Cup Final in Auckland will go down as one of the greats.
“Every year, across both competitions, we see hardened veterans play alongside and against emerging stars and that is just a small part of what makes these competitions a much-loved piece of the rugby calendar,” said Cass.
